This One's For Rick
Last week we discussed the importance of connecting with your mortality and the benefits of doing so. These thought processes were really stirred up because of Rick Stimatze - who I've worked for and known for almost 20 years. His passing stirred up a lot of emotion because Rick pushed me to be the best version of myself.
And what Rick taught me was how to stand convicted on your principles. How to stand on them regardless of the pain, to stand convicted on a decision you made - even if it was wrong. And if you make a mistake, you own that mistake even if it costs you money. Rick was a great man, and he loved people. He may have been a little rough around the edges, but he taught me so much - through his words and his actions. Maybe we could all benefit from being a little more like Rick.
