The [Infamous] Marshmallow Study


We all want instant gratification. That's no secret. We give up something better down the road to feel good now. It happens to all of us. Don't feel bad.


I would argue, however, that there is value in delayed gratification. The more discipline and willpower we have, the greater the level of success we can achieve. What do you need to be delaying or what gratification could you delay now to achieve greater success and gratification one year from now, 5 years from now, or 10 years from now?


It's challenging. It takes patience, discipline, and willpower. But you can do this.
