The Dangers of "Need To Know"

If you tuned in a couple of weeks ago, we discussed how some people cannot handle transparency and overcommunication. If we, as leaders, choose to lead without transparency and consistent communication, it can begin to create a "need-to-know" environment and there are DANGERS that come with having a "need-to-know" mentality.

"Need-to-know" creates separation between "us" and "them". It makes a space where some people are on the inside and are privy to information, while others are left on the outside looking in. And then resentment sets in, our people begin to question their role within the team; and their self-worth and has the potential of creating a toxic atmosphere.
